Played in band from 6th grade through college. Woodwinds: Saxophone (soprano, alto, tenor, bari), clarinets (Eb, Bb, Alto, Bass, Eb Contrabass), Bassoon, mallet percussion (xylophone, marimba, bells, chimes). Highlight of band career was playing bari sax in the Jazz Ensemble at Eastman School of Music under Chuck Mangione in the early 1970's.
Played keyboards from age 7 on (i.e., 47 years). Studied classical piano, jazz piano, organ - highlight of those studies was a brief stint at the Conservatory of Nice, France in 1977-78.
Composed and arranged music since 6th Grade. Winner of numerous student composition awards. College degree in Composition & Music Theory. Have written several commissioned works, including two oratorios. Currently writing an opera about a grey alien landing in an English village in 1747.
Have been involved in church music continuously since 1978, mainly as music minister and assistant pastor of a small church in Fort Worth, TX.
Have been teaching music, both privately and in public schools, since 1989. Currently teaching piano and saxophone at a music store in Fort Worth.
Do various gigs of all sorts and styles of music. Playing piano for a realtors banquet next Thursday with a violinist and a cellist--arrangements of Strauss waltzes, Joplin rags, Henry Mancini and Beatles' hits.
