SEEKING: A Walk Coach and A Run Coach for Team Challenge a ½ marathon training program to benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.*
*This is a paid part time coaching position.
Join a passionate team that is creating awareness, and raising critical funds to find a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Are you skilled in motivating people, have experience coaching running, or walking and ready to make a real difference in our community?
The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), is a private, non-profit national organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis. CCFA sponsors basic and clinical research of the highest quality, offers a wide range of educational programs for patients and health care professionals, and provides supportive services to patients and family members.
Responsible for training, supporting, and motivating team members to run or walk the Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon on July 19, 2009 and/or the Kona Half Marathon June 28, 2009.
Executive Director and National Event Director
Develop weekly training schedules for participants of all levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced.
Coordinate and lead all team training events, with 3-4 per month coach-led weekend training events per month.
Recruit speakers for training clinics to be held in conjunction with team training
or at team meetings, on such topics as; nutrition, injury prevention, shoe selection etc.
Write brief weekly emails to TEAM CHALLENGE participants.
Be available during the week, by phone or CCFA email, to answer training
CPR/First Aid certified through a recognized course such as through the American Red Cross, prior to commencement of coaching duties.

Coaching and Running or Walking Experience
Ability to motivate and create team atmosphere
Public speaking required
Required to work three Saturday or Sunday mornings a month to attend group training sessions.
Available to start working Feb. 7th, 2008.
