Re: Who's In For Richmond??

Kathy, I think that $1200 deal is their standard "marketing" blitz.  I've been seeing that for a while in my "Disney Destinations" email.  Of course they base it on the cheapest room rate, the most days tickets purchased, and buying a specific meal plan (or not telling you how much food costs at the park.)

Craig -- keep calling may be the best advice as I suspect there will be cancellations due to injury, the "r" word, and any number of other reasons but the value resorts will get booked pretty solid.  And although I remember the parking lots being pretty full I don't remember actually seeing that many people at the hotel. . . hmmm...

Fun fact:  There's a giant-sized cell phone at the end of one of the Pop Century's buildings.  It has a number on the "simulated" LCD.  I called it.  Apparently I was the first to ever do that.   It's Disney's main information line.  This has nothing to do with your hotel reservation.  I just thought it was fun.

Re: Who's In For Richmond??

They also now have a "buy 4 get 3 free" offer, 7 nights for the price of 4, if you want to stay longer.  When I tried online for Jan. 9 - 16, everything seemed to booked, but I didn't try every hotel.  That doesn't mean you won't get it by calling, or with slightly different date.

This offer will still be available for the Princess half (1/4 - 4/4 and 4/19 - 6/27, gee I wonder when Easter is), but you have to book by December 20.

Or at least you were the first to do it with that group. I'm sure the turn over rate on the information line is really low. LMAO

Re: Who's In For Richmond??

OK, getting back to Richmond, I'm tracking Jerry and Craig. Anyone else registered?

About Disney, I've never stayed at any of the hotels or relied on their transportation so I can't give you any suggestions. However, as I've said before, I'm here, have a car and I'll gladly help out anyone who needs a ride or pickup at the airport.

Do you have their Bib numbers Karen?  If so, could you post them?

I don't have their bib numbers but the system just asked for their names.

Re: Who's In For Richmond??

I'll be the guy in front of Craig at each of the timing mats.

(Seriously, I think he's got this one in the bag. . . )
