I ran my first mile today! I on week 2 of the C25K. I should have been running 90 seconds and walking 90 today but, when it gets too easy, I often run just a little more just to see how it feels. Well today I could hold back, my pace was pretty slow (it took me 15 minutes) and I don't know why, but I just kept going and going...
At about 0.8 mile my mind was telling me to stop but my body didn't feel much different than when I run 3 minutes so I pushed a little more. When I got to the one mile, I walked for 60 seconds (as I cried....I was sooooo happy) Then I ran an other 0.8 miles and walked 5 minutes than stoped. I feel good, body and mind!
Very very very happy!
Congratulations !!! pat yourself on the back -

Now that you've done that first mile, you know you can run as many as you want after that. You've discovered the key -- slow down enough and you can run pretty near forever!
Good luck as you complete c25k -- you rock!

That is such an awesome accomplishment - isn't it!!!!!!!
It can be overwhelming & that's exactly why you'll cry with tears of joy! But you will continue on - setting goals and achieving them is what it's all about - perseverance - persistence - and the joy you feel is the reward!
GOOD FOR YOU! You are on your way!!!!!!!
Thank you all so much for the kind words. It felt great to share my joy! Althou I mannages to run that first mile, It has been hard to do it again without taking a small walking break at my half way point. My running career is just beginning so I have plenty of time to get better and achieve more goals!
