Best State for High School Basketball

Alright, what's the first state that comes to mind when thinking about elite high school boys basketball?
New York with Rice, Lincoln and Boys and Girls representing?
New Jersey? Can't forget about St. Patrick, St. Benedict's or St. Anthony.
Pennsylvania? One name: Kobe Bryant.
Virginia? Oak Hill Academy has launched more NBA careers than the entire state of Wisconsin (don't hold me to that one, though).
Texas? How bout Duncanville and Hightower leading the way.
Indiana? Come on now, Hoosier hoops. Larry Bird. Great teams like Lawrence North.
California? From Oakland to San Diego, the talent never ends. Mater Dei out of Santa Ana is the BasketballPower preseason #1.
For me, I think it's either New York or Pennsylvania where there is so much talent across the board. Especially so after reading "The Last Shot" by Darcy Frey about playground ball and high school kids trying to make it big, citing Stephon Marbury and Lincoln High.
Thoughts?
cant leave out florida. Arlington Country day is legit. This state produces good talent.

I think you have to go with New York soley based on the city schools alone. There are so many good programs in the city and then the teams outside as well. Then i would have a tie between California and Pennsylvania bc Philadelphia and Los Angeles are the next two best cities for high school hoops. Thats my opinion.
Atlanta produces big talent as well. Derrick Favors from SOuth atlanta is one of the top recruits in the country. 6-9 center but will probably move to forward in college.
Looking at the NBAs 50 Greatest players many of them are from New York City. The city just breeds great players but what they are known for is their superior point guards. Must be something in the water that gives them great hand-eye coordnation. Just look how they flip their pizza.
I second that, Have you guys ever seen the movie "Rebound"? Don Cheetle play Earl "the Goat" Manigold the best player never to make out of the NYC playground.

North Carolina produces major talent as well. There are alot of good private schools like, Christ school, Word of God, and Veritas academy.
John Wall is a one of the nations best players and hes from UNC.
North Carolina is known for John Wall and Cole Trickle
I know of Cole Hamels not Cole Trickle. Whats his deal?
Cole Hamels cant do anything unless he has four days rest
Illinois is a sleeper pick. They did produce Kevin Garnett and Shawn Levingston was gonna be the next magic untill...you might want to turn away...
North Carolina also produced Danny Manning, one of the all-time greats.
This question is easier to answer in football, where it's Texas, California, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and everyone else.
It's not so easy in basketball. Off the top of my head, I think of cities, not states. The great players that came out of Chicago like Eddy Curry, Juwan Howard, Derrick Rose, Garnett (for one year, anyway), Luther Head, Dee Brown and even current college stars like Sherron Collins and Jon Scheyer. And of course, the best documentary ever, Hoop Dreams, took place in the Windy City.
Chicago might get my vote.
But what about Detroit? Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Shane Battier, Mateen Cleaves, Glen Rice are on that list.
Los Angeles has had plenty of talent come through recently like Paul Pierce, Tyson Chandler, Tayshaun Prince, Aaron Afflalo, on and on and on.
It's an interesting debate. I'll go with Chicago.
Danny Manning is actually from Lawrence Kansas, so he did not have to travel far when he played at Kansas in college. I also agree that there are many great hoops cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia being the best among the group.
I go with Philadelphia- you have Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlin, Rashaad Wallace, Sean Singletary, Kyle Lowry, Wayne Ellington, Tyreke Evans, Eddie Griffen was the best player in the country in high school
You cant mention wayne ellington and wilt chamberlain in the same breath. Wayne ellington allthough good, not an all time great.
