I think you have to go with New York soley based on the city schools alone. There are so many good programs in the city and then the teams outside as well. Then i would have a tie between California and Pennsylvania bc Philadelphia and Los Angeles are the next two best cities for high school hoops. Thats my opinion.

Looking at the NBAs 50 Greatest players many of them are from New York City. The city just breeds great players but what they are known for is their superior point guards. Must be something in the water that gives them great hand-eye coordnation. Just look how they flip their pizza.

North Carolina produces major talent as well. There are alot of good private schools like, Christ school, Word of God, and Veritas academy.

North Carolina also produced Danny Manning, one of the all-time greats.

This question is easier to answer in football, where it's Texas, California, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and everyone else.

It's not so easy in basketball. Off the top of my head, I think of cities, not states. The great players that came out of Chicago like Eddy Curry, Juwan Howard, Derrick Rose, Garnett (for one year, anyway), Luther Head, Dee Brown and even current college stars like Sherron Collins and Jon Scheyer. And of course, the best documentary ever, Hoop Dreams, took place in the Windy City.

Chicago might get my vote.

But what about Detroit? Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Shane Battier, Mateen Cleaves, Glen Rice are on that list.

Los Angeles has had plenty of talent come through recently like Paul Pierce, Tyson Chandler, Tayshaun Prince, Aaron Afflalo, on and on and on.

It's an interesting debate. I'll go with Chicago.

You cant mention wayne ellington and wilt chamberlain in the same breath. Wayne ellington allthough good, not an all time great.
