I Am Wondering About Football Games...or is it Footbah Games?

I'm a football fan, but mostly I think the game is called footbah (maybe spelled footbaugh) and it presumes that all players and fans are dumba$$es I think.

Hockey, baseball, and baketball have players....football has football players.

Hockey is played on a rink, baseball on a field or a diamond, badketball on a court....football is played on the football field.

Lots of sports have teams....football has football teams

In most sports the coach might say ,"The objective is to win the game."

In football, the coach would say, "The objective is to win the football game."

Do they not realize that most of us clearly understand that the field Randy Moss was running down was indeed the football field and not a fairway on a golf course??

Is it not clear to them that we really do know the game the New England Patriots won was indeed a football game and not something in the NBA???

I was listening to Sirius yesterday and over about a 10 minute period the adjective football was used in front of a noun 24 times.

...and it was the NFL station.

Cracks me up.

Listen for it....college is worse.

I've noticed that. Maybe it's because the players and coaches themselves do it and then reporters/analysts pick up on it. Perhaps the players and coaches are unconsciously reinforcing their confidence in their ability by saying football so many times.

How cool. I've never noticed, but I'll certainly be listening for it.
