Some might think discipline is training for a marathon. Some might even think it's running from Philadelphia to DC. Some might think it's training for a triathlon or even an ironman race. Some might think it's getting up at 4am to run. There are many examples that some might think demonstrate discipline.
But you'd be wrong.
But you're in luck, I just found out the answer this morning and am willing to share!
Discipline is sitting in your office with a box of 20 fresh Krispy Kreme glazed donuts just a few feet away on the conference room table for everyone to enjoy.

Happy Friday everyone.

Happy Friday everyone.
I have ran a marathon and I have even ran from Philly to DC. I have done more then one triathlon, no ironman yet. Running at 4 am is easy and done often.
Now you all may not know it but I was a policeman in this gun club I work for. That being said a box of donuts and I get along well and it is easy to have the whole box. I can not remember a time when I only had one if there was a way to have at least two. I am an undisciplined cuss I tell ya! LOL
Good one Ike

That's not discipline. That's just wasteful. I would have eaten at least three. Plus it's the neighborly thing to do for all those out-of-shape and overweight people in the office that don't run all the time. You could have saved them from themselves. Shame on you, thinking only of yourself

P.S. I just ran 11 miles. To h*ll with discipline, I'm having a cheeseburger, fries, and a milk shake.
Hebrews 12:11-12
"11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
12Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees."
(in my motivated Pirates voice) Arrrgggg.. I shall go run 10 miles now!
I'm with you Nita, eating just one is not right, you're only doing yourself a favor and at this time of giving you should have done the neighborly thing and eaten at least three, therefore keeping the weight off a lot of your co-workers. Now that's a gift.
You're right! I can't believe how selfish I was. I hope I'm not breaking any "Good Samaritan" laws. In fact...I'm going to go have a 2nd donut just to be safe!
Now you're talking Isaac. It's so good of you to be a good samaritan.
I'm glad we could help you see the light. ![]()
BTW Nita, how's the weather where you are and what is the forecast and when are you leaving to NYC? My daughter and family are coming in on Sunday from NYC and the weather forecast is nothing to write home about.
It's 75 and hot as sh!t outside right now. No problem getting OUT of DFW tomorrow. However, just found out all flights from DFW to New York for TODAY have canceled
I am holding my breath and hoping for the best. We're supposed to leave at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
BTW, by Sunday night, it's supposed to be 18 here in Dallas, with a high of 30.... that's Texas weather for you.
Everybody keep your fingers crossed my flight's not canceled to NYC tomorrow because of the blizzard. Only thing worse would be getting there and not being able to get home for Christmas
!
Good luck with your flight Nita. They should be OK tomorrow. But it will be cold, highs around 30.
Isaac, I ate a bagel to help you out. There weren't any donuts here.
We've come this far and it's still the same,
Runnin' out here in the rain.
Just one more mile, if only you could fly.
(Apologies to T. Rush and J. Tempchin, for the paraphrase)

I don't even know if Texas would consider this a blizzard. 2-3 inches, no wind, and right around the freezing point. It's just kind of drizzly now. I'm not sure which day your return flight is, but Monday just looks windy, Tuesday's good, and Wednesday is a "light wintry mix" - nothing too concerning for return flight cancellations. The airports are at 4-5 hour delays, but they're open.
Awesome! We're flying back Tuesday afternoon. We should be good.
Now we just have to worry about freezing to death while there. Oh, well, if nothing else, six girls hanging out at Macy's for three days will work ![]()
We're going to see Altar Boyz Sunday and Chicago on Monday and dinner reservations at Carmine's. Woo-hoo!!!!
