Is it coach wooten of Dematha High? I know he does not coach there anymjore but was he that good of a coach or just a great recruiter? Could be the combination of the two.
Has to be a combination of both. Great players can get you alot of s but you need a good coach to get titles. Alot of times you see a great team not reach their potential. That is where a good ach comes in to help that team reach their fu potential.
Here is an article about the coach at Dunbar High in Texas breaking Coach Wootens mark at 1275. This was from 2003. His players call him the "dinosaur"

good article. I love hearing about coaches staying in one place for a long time. Like Joe Pa, but it might be time for him to go after that drubbing they took against USC.
i think its a sign for joe pa to go when u rock baseball cleats to a football game. Hes a legend but hes way past his prime
I think those are coaching cleats. Available at your local Play It Again Sports.
You think coach wooten rocked chuck taylors as his classic trademark?
I think Bobby Hurley from St Anthonys has to be up there. He has pulled some kids from rough streets and transformed their life using basketball. There is even a book about their 2004 season i believe and it is called " Miracle at St. Anthonys." The book is ok but it follows the players and hurley and his dedication to the program. His son is a rising superstar coach at St Benedicts which since he has taken over the program has risen to a top team in the nation every year. The father and son refuse to play each other unless they meet by chance. St Anthonys, St Benedicts, St Pats and Patterson Catholic make up the best in north jersey which is some of the finest basketball in the country
Why dont they play each other? That is a great story and a great chance to begin a tough rivalry.

he is some explanation
Milton High GA coach David Boyd recently won his 500th game. Just a congatulations to another great long tenured coach
500? thats is impressive. I having a party for my 500th post.
The montrose christian coach Stu Vetter has Won 738 games, and lost only 98. Pretty amazing record.
Legend Status
Hard to lose many games with the talent he gets. Yet 98 losses is absurd with all those wins. School is a recent feeder to Nova and GTOWN
