We are holding the first ever runner Karaoke contest... in a small 5K race. So what running tunes get stuck in your head when you run?
Mine is always "Running on Empty" by the Eagles.. Oh the race is "Will Run for Beer" Smuttynose 5K June 22nd in Newmarket NH.
One of my favorites is "How Fast Can You Run" by Rocco DeLuca.
Pink Floyd had at least 2: "On The Run" and "Run like ****" (yes, I know Active is going to censor that one).
How about "Band On the Run" by Wings?
And of course..."Born To Run" by Bruce.
I'm sure there are many others.
Two that are often stuck in my head while running:
"And the Race is On."
and
"I Think We're Alone Now." ("Running just and fast as we can ....")
Others:
(Running) Against the Wind
Run Runaway (Slade)
Take the Money and Run
Run through the Jungle
Run through the Fields (by Nuclear Valdez)
Runnin Down a Dream (Tom Petty)
Long May you Run (N Young)
Run Baby Run (Sheryl Crow)
Running with the Devil (Van Halen)
and of course, Born to Run!
Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden
The Distance - Cake
It's a Long Way to the Top - AC/DC
Is "Running on Empty" a title, or just in the words of an older song?
"My little run-around"?
The Runer- Manfred Man, redone by Ian Thomas
I love listening to music when I run and when warming up. My favorite "Running" tune is "Born To Run" by Emmylou Harris and it is not the same "Born To Run" by Springsteen, which is a good song as well, but you have to take a listen to this one by Emmylou Harris. When I hear it, it sparks something inside me and speeds me up.
I have a "Running" list saved to my MP3 player, which has more than five songs but I will share them.
Running on Empty - Jackson Brown
Run, Runaway - Slade
Runaway - Bon Jovi
Running Down a Dream - Tom Petty
I Ran - Flock of Seagulls
Who Will You Run To - Heart
Run To You - Bryan Adams
(Nothing's Gonna) Break My Stride - Matthew Wilder
Eagles Fly - Sammy Hagar
Winning - Santana
New Attitude - Patti LaBelle
Again, I highly recommend Emmylou Harris's "Born To Run"
My fav is "Roadrunner" by Jonathan Richmond and the Modern Lovers...and oldie but goodie, and a great running song.
Take It On The Run- REO Speedwagon
Run For Cover- Quiet Riot
Don't Run Wild- Del Fuegos
I'm a day late and a dollar short but here goes:

"The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" by Iron Maiden
The tough of the trackWith the wind and the rain that's beating down on your backYour heart's beating loud and goes onGetting louder and goes on even more'Til the sound is ringing in your headWith every step you treadAnd every breath you takeDetermination makes you run never stopGot to win got to run 'til you dropKeep the pace, hold the raceYour mind is getting clearerYou're over halfway thereBut the miles they never seem to endAs if you're in a dreamNot getting anywhere, it seems so futile
Run on and onRun on and onThe loneliness of the long distance runner
I've got to keep running the courseI've got to keep running and win at all costsI've got to keep going be strongMust be so determined and push myself on
Run over stiles across fields, turn to look at who's on your heelsWay ahead of the field, the line is getting nearer but do you want the glory that goesYou reach the final stretch, ideals are just a traceYou feel like throwing the race, it's all so futile
Run on and onRun on and onThe loneliness of the long distance runner
Run on and onRun on and onThe loneliness of the long distance runner
