Your Next Race?

So we're still fighting through this winter and spring is on the march now that Groundhog's day has come and gone.

What's your next race?

After a lengthy battle with an IT band injury, I'm running the New York Grand Prix Bronx Half Marathon this coming Sunday.  It'll be my first since Marine Corps.  I'm pretty pumped and a little nervous.  How about you?

I think I have a 10k on the 28th of Feb, then a half somewhere after that and a full on March 15th(Seabrook Lucky Trail Marathon) and that's it so far.

    Re: Your Next Race?

I'm registered for the NYRR Bronx Half, but odds are I'll choose sleep. If you're not taking the subway, give yourself plenty of time to find parking. NYRR Bronx 2-3 summers ago was the only race I ever missed because I couldn't park. If you see something within 1-1.5 miles of the start, take it. Oh, and don't take the Fordham Road exit (or was it Kingsbridge Rd?) off the Major Deegan, 20-25 minute back-up.

I might slip in a couple of others, but my spring recruiting schedule looks like this...

Feb 15- Austin Marathon (well it'll feel like spring to me!)

Mar 1 - B& A Trail Marathon (Severna Park, MD. Asphalt trail. They have a half... )

Mar 15 - Caesar Rodney Half

    Mar 22 - Shamrock Marathon

Apr 5 - Cherry Blossom Ten Miler

Apr 18 - Charlottesville Marathon (there's a half here too...)

    May 3 - Pittsburgh Marathon

May 17 - Marine Corps Historic Half

May 24 - Vermont City Marathon

    Re: Your Next Race?

Right now Antarctica is next with Pittsburgh not too long after. I plan

on running MCM and I'm seriously considering a trail ultra in

September. Also, now that I'm swimming more than I have in the past,

I'm starting to more seriously contemplate a triathlon, but at the moment no ultras or tris on the books.

I'm still debating the 8K or whatever it is at Shamrock, but I'm still thinking not. So..

Marine Corps Historic Half  May 17th..

(Did anyone else get a training shirt for this?)
