In the current college basketball playoff predicator St. Mary's is still in, but I see them fading fast because without Patty Mills they can't compete. He may be back in time for the WCC tourney and they could earn an automatic bid. I mean they probably would have beaten Gonzaga had Mills not been injured in the second half of that game.
Mills is the straw which stirs the drink for St. Marys. Without him expect the Zags to get the automatic qualifier and poor St. Mary's be on the outside looking in without enough non-league quality wins.
But if the hand heals in time for the WCC tourney then Mills and the Gaels are a factor once again. Reports are that he could be healthy by then.
Im still going with the Zags, they will win the conference tourny, but will the Zags or Saint Mary's get a birth if they dont win the Conference tourny?
I think the Zags still get in if they win out and lose in the conference final game. Great players and Few is my favorite coach in NCAA
Gonzaga appears like a lock at this point. The game against Memphis was certainly disappointing, but they should be in no matter what. St. Mary's on the other hand must win the conference tourney.
The Zags were always the sleeper pick come tourny time now the programs has developed into a legit program. Great to see such progress in a short amount of time.
Did you see St. Mary's give the Zags a scare last night? Mills is still not back, but the Gaels are playing with purpose still. But a nice win for the Bulldogs to bounce back from that embarassing performance against Memphis. Anytime you get a win at a conference rival is a pretty nice win.
