Tuesday Runs

Good morning! Up early for what was supposed to be a 4 miler. Slogged. Calves felt like rocks in their giant knots. Almost stopped at a half a mile. Kept going but called it a day at 3. I'm just waiting for injury/illness to sideline me at Pittsburgh and another mile won't matter one bit. Happy Tuesday

I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.

Kat - The fact that you were up and at it is inspiration.

5 x 1000m repeats today w/ a target of 7:15/mi.  5 min warmup, and not much cool down (see below).  400m rest intervals about 1/2 walk 1/2 jog.

    1. 6:47 /mi

    2. 7:05

    3. 7:00

    4. 7:05

    5. DNF

I was getting a blister on #5, adjusted my shoe and discovered I've worn out the fabric behind my heal.  I'm showing about 240 miles on Asics Gel-1130s.  Doesn't seem like very good milage, but maybe I hadn't had them fitted well.  The other one is also close to wearing through the fabric.

I've got an ortho appt to get new inserts today...have to see if there's a half-deceint shoe store around Sumter SC.  Probably need a road trip to Florance or Colombia before my next run.

    Grace and peace,

    Mike

7.3 miles @ 8:30 followed by hill sprints and bounding ... what a long strange (and wonderful) trip its been!

    Happy Running!

Walked 5m at 13:30 pace on a 3 incline.  Don't know why, but couldn't face running, so I did something different, running would have been easier.

Charlotte nice walk.  That is a brisk walk if not flat out getting busy walk for most.  I simply went out for a 5K type run.  Was not sure how far I was gonna go when I left but after 3 miles I was ready to be done.  I could have went much further but it was at 3 that I knewit would just be me getting miles if I continued.  I went out at just over an 8 minute mile then steadily got faster as I went.  Finsihed in nice form and fashion.

Sounds like you did what you had to do for your body.  Sensible man!  We need to be sensible every once in a while, right?

    Re: Tuesday Runs

Hey all! I was out at 8 this morning with my friend lissa who is doing the MCM as her first marathon. We ahd planned on 6, but Lissa was off her game and felt like she was having trouble with her pace. We reduced the run to 5. She felt better on the second half. The pace was slow for me, but i needed to do a easy run. I still have the habit of running the same pace all the time. Any way, it was nice to run with someone, I trained by myself last year, and it got old sometimes.

I signed up for a 5k saturday (Mercer 5K, Ashburn, Va.) so I'm looking forward to the Karma again.

    Run hard everyone!   Kris

no you didn't.  I find that the longer I am married the more capable of lucking into a sensible situation I become.  Not planned it just happened.  But Kat that was nicely played.

That was my time on the nose.  No kidding 23:51 and my watch can prove it.  Too cool.  Maybe we were even running at the same exact time.
