Where did you set your marathon PR

With Boston only a couple months away, I find myself in the position once again to go after my PR. I set my marathon PR this past fall in Philadelphia and am hoping to go Sub 3 and set another PR in boston this year. Just out of curiosity ... where did you set your PR?

Chicago, but if you're in New Hampshire, you might want to try the Baystate Marathon in Lowell MA. Flat and uncrowded. http://www.baystatemarathon.com/[/URL" target="_blank">

How did you do Boston as a PR if it is supposed to be a difficult course. I have been trying to set a target for Boston and have been advised to set it higher than my BQ time.

My PR in my first running life: Ottawa --25 years ago
My PR in my second running life: Prince Edward County-last year
Time difference: 14 minutes
This year's goal: get time difference to 7 minutes

Boston was my second marathon. My qualifier was in a snow storm on a hilly course. I improved 6 minutes when I ran at Boston, but didn't hit my goal simply because I had to walk across the starting line and lost 5 to 6 minutes in the first two miles. I didn't run another marathon for 16 years when I ran a qualifier for the 100th.. When I ran the 100th, I wanted to enjoy the run so I cruised and still ran a decent time.

I thought that it was a pretty easy course. Other than the Newton Hills, which at the time I thought were not a big deal, the course is mostly downhill. If you have room to run, pace yourself appropriately and get a break with the weather, you should be able to run a decent time.
