securing the chip

any tips on how to hold the chip onto shoes for a race, other than looping the chip through the shoelaces??

duct tape! Lots of it!

Seriously though, you can buy a little velcro strip from a running store if you want for a couple bucks. What's wrong with lacing it on your shoes?

Lightweight zip ties. One on each side of the chip looped through the bottom lace hole in the shoe. If you get the thinnest type there is room for the zip tie and the shoelace. Wait to tighten until the shoe is on your foot, then adjust both zip ties until the chip is centered and snug againt the shoe. Finish by cutting off the excess tie. It doesn't interfere with lacing, doesn't flop around and won't come off.
