We absolutely agree that it is an honor.  We all know he is talented.  It comes from all the hard work in the backyard and at the expense of my shoulder.  I know you know what I'm talking about.....lol   He deserves it if work ethic has anything to do with it.  He lives, eats, and breathes baseball.  He's been on every all star team since he was old enough.  There's alot more to it like, the ex-pres's kid is 12 and this is his last year.  So, he's making any move he can, fair or not, to give his kid one last chance.  At the expense of my kid.  I take that very personal.  He doesn't care about the 11's.  There's a better chance the 11's could go to state and win, than the 12's going to the LLWS.  It's not about THE kids to him, it's about HIS kid.  Oh, did I mention he's coaching the 12's now.  Hmmmm, just feels and smells like there's something underhanded going on, which is the reason I wanted to read the rule about picking all stars.  My son has been playing for the same coach for years, select and league.  Why punish HIM by making HIM play up even if he doesn't want too.  I guess the biggest beef I have is, they gave us the ultimatum, he plays for the 12's or he doesn't play at all.  Honestly how would you feel?  That's wrong no matter how you look at it.  They tried to pass all this without the board/parents knowing about it.  I guess they thought it would fly.  Once we got wind of it, there was 2 emergency board meetings called.  I think we have it worked out now.  At least it's being voted on from unbiast parents on the board from a list each coach has made and turned in.  I just want to know where to find, or who to talk to about the actual rule for picking all stars.  They keep saying it's changed this year, stating they have to make the best 12 y/o team they can first, even if it means playing up some 11 y/os without having to have the parents consent, even if there are enough 12 y/o, nixing them if you will for an 11 y/o that's better.  You know?  Just doesn't sound right.  I don't think little league is set up that way.  The ex pres and the new pres are buddies too.  I know it sounds like whining, but noone has the right to tell my kid where he's going to play!  Unless he get a full ride to UT or something......lol

P.S.  We'll find out tomorrow what team he ends up on, I'll keep ya posted if you like.  You never know when something like this will happen in your neck of the woods. Apparantly presidents get greedy when it's there kids last year....

Oh, I did want to mention also that one of the unbiast parents that is picking the 11 and 12 y/o teams does agree with my wife and I.  It should be at the parents discretion to play up or not.  And, she's the one that kept the concession stand running so smoothly for the last 2 years.  If you've been in baseball for anytime at all, you know what a pain that is.  Opening and closing, going to sams, counting money, getting people to run it when it's there turn....etc...
