I'll be running a 10K Saturday morning at Washington's Crossing, Upper Makefield, PA, along with the Firecat and Courir26, I think.
We've come this far and it's still the same,

Some of you may remember my post from this time last year: my Dad, age 72, entered and completed his first race ever. He set a PR at the local Watermelon 5K: 58:32. (No, we were not last.)
Several months ago, he vowed to improve his PR this year. He even started a training plan by measuring a route near his house which he has walked several times a week for the past couple of months. He arrived here Monday night, has begun tapering, hydrating, carbo loading and resting up for Saturday. I will, of course, encourage him to post a RR for you all.
(He is also here to celebrate my little fellow turning 5 years old today!)
I'm most likely doing the 10K, Len. I'll have a better idea on Friday and will know for sure by, umh, Saturday morning. ![]()
That's so cool, Karen! Go Dad and Happy Birthday Ian!!!
Good luck everybody!
Run well, one and all! There's still a chance that Elder Daughter and I may sneak into a local 10k, uphill the first half but with payback the second. With Grandfather 10 days away and my heel still healing from dog skiing into a hidden ground hazard, I might wimp out.
I'm searching now, our camping trip was just canceled do I might pick up a local 5K. Trying to figure out which one I have a chance of AG placing.
BTW-- Immer, I sent my Dizzy Fifties entry form in today.
Next up: Rocket City Marathon (12/12), then Recover from the Holidays 50K(12/31), Mountain Midst 1/23/10
All of you, great runs. Enjoy. I'll be looking forward to RRs, and just sit eat and be merry. BTW, Sara, tell your dad I'm rooting for his PR.
Autism Speaks 5K for me and my family on Saturday in Potomac MD! Can't wait!!!!
(Anyone interested can still join Raeann's Runners or donate on her page at www.potomac5k.org . Think I'll be plugging this thing till the cows come home!)
