Funny that it's SO much more of a problem for Seattle than Boston, Chicago, NYC, DC, Atlanta, Miami, SLC, Pittsburgh, Portland, Memphis, Nashville, Richmond, Philly, Baltimore, Duluth, Columbus,.............
Ok, some insight here for people who've never lived in Washington.
After the weather and people from California, traffic is the number one thing people from Seattle like to ***** about. Actually I think it goes hand-in-hand with bitching about people from California, since without them, there'd be no traffic to ***** about.
This is just a normal Seattle reaction. Nothing to see here, move along. ![]()

That's really funny because there are always a few of a$$holes complaining about traffic during the Austin Marathon. People in Austin also complain about folks moving here from California. The Californian in turn complain about the noise from the live music clubs. Someone should remind the last person to leave California to turn off the lights and shut the door on their way out. After everyone moves out of California then maybe some "normal" people could move back in?
Lies Spectators tell Marathoners: 1) Last Hill! 2) Almost there! 3) You look great!
I find this whole story and everyone's comments quite amusing
Seriously, have they never hosted a marathon in Seattle in the past?
Sorry, guys, if we ruined your commute Saturday!
They have had one annually in November........
The RnR "Seattle" marathon used to be the Bellevue marathon. It ran for several years. In 2008 they had a whole lot of problems. Apparently a lot of runners riding race shuttles never even go to the start. The Competitor Group "RnR" bought the race and renamed it for 2009.
The original Seattle marathon is always at the end/begin of Nov/Dec.
