Okay so with July I find myself for the first time ion a long time marathonless. I have ran or been looking forward to running one for quite sometime but have decide to let go of the wonderful distance known as 26.2 miles. I may be very limited on my time spent on these and other pages in the next month. I have decided to let my beard grow, live off the land, and enjoy the heat that Texas has to offer in the summer. I will visit caves and splash down rivers that used to be a borderline and main water way for cattle drives. I plan on lacing up my shoes and running, riding and might even dabble a bit in the swim.
My plan is to hit some two a days and wear myslef out real good so that when I finally find a place to sleep at the end of each day I will be so dead tired that nonthing will keep me from getting rest. At least not until the sun comes up the next day.
Here is to a month which, other then El Scorcho's 15.5 miles will not see me run more then 10 miles in one setting. It has been fun and I will be back for random visits but here is me saying have fun in July and if nothing else eat some fresh homemade apple pie and fried chicken. Don't forget the watermelon as they are well within season.

Sounds lovely! I will certainly eat some apple pie for you
Wishing you the best! I'll miss you- you're like my running big brother!
I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.

Hey, Mr. Jarhead! Have a great time! Wear yourself out during the day, sleep like a log at night! We'll look for you down the road.
(I had been counting on having July off myself. But they didn't lay us off at the end of June like they said they would. Now it looks like I'll have October off.)
We've come this far and it's still the same,
Runnin' out here in the rain.
Just one more mile, if only you could fly.

The whole area is amazing! The javelinas and roadrunners were pretty entertaining, the scenery is gorgeous, the play of light as you move across terrain is really cool; if I'd had one of those hats with the eyes on it, like the woodcutters in India, I might have kept going up the trail that day, too, but it was approaching sunset and the freshness of the cat's calling card said solo running wasn't so smart.
Well that region you speak of out West will get some of my miles. I will definately take a beer when we next cross paths there my friend. Charlotte you will be missed but you have my other info. Immer I will fondly remember your stories as the month passes by. I still have internet access as of right now so until they shut me down I will post. I wonder how my little sister is doing today? Well it is off to the car repair shop and then to try and encounter some wildlife.

PS Len I know a 4:42 is still very respectable and all I am just mad at myself for not getting in the training.
