My knee was killing me after my 12 miler ,so of course I iced it when I got home and thoughout the night and next morning. Knee feels better, but now I have FROST BITE!!!!
Yikes.... rememebr to put a barrier between the ice and the body next time. Usually I wrap an ace bandage once or twice then put the ice down then finish wrapping the ace to hold the ice in place. It's icing and compression at once AND you don't need to hold the ice.
I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.

It appears you have found one of the few stupid running things I haven't gotten around to.........Be nice to it!
I think I just forgot about it while working around the house and left it on there too long. Lesson learned!!!
Well, MCM will be my fifth. Right around mile 22, I feel its pretty much the stupidest thing i ever decided to do ... everytime!
Happy Running!
The stupidest thing I ever did was sign up for a marathon.
Seriously, my first marathon led to my second, which led to my 3rd, 4th, yada, yada yada, 10 years later, 148 marathons and I am still signing up.
Last year I read about a Iowan running in a Wisconsin ultra where he got frostbite in temps 15 below zero. He gave 2 toes to the cause, but he won the race!!!

To get frost bite in-doors. That's a good one. I hope they don't have to amputate.
Not sure if stupid applies, but I once arrived at a race with odd shoes. Fortunately a right & a left so I could still run.
I once picked a race over family time with the wife. (Noticed I said "once")
Next up: Rocket City Marathon (12/12), then Recover from the Holidays 50K(12/31), Mountain Midst 1/23/10

I would call once a mistake, twice would qualify as stupid.
I once tried to jump over about a 4 foot puddle across a path about 500 yards into a 5 mile run, instead of running back 100 yards the road that ran along side of the path. Needless to say, i landed right in the middle of the puddle and ran in one soaked shoe and one dry shoe that day.
