Does anybody know of any cool training software that I can download to from my Garmin 305 runs? (e.g. maps, analysis, etc). The software that comes with the Garmin 305 GPS is very bland. Free would be nice but not required. Thanks. See you in DC 10/25.
I just started using my 205 today and agree that the Garmin software seems bland. Over on runnersworld.com I've seen people mention something called SportTracks which they say is better. I'm going to look into that...
Yes I agree the Garmin software is pretty bad. Also annoying that it has that automatically loading software and that you have to have the Garmin plugged in to work.
I found this freeware MUCH more useful. In fact, I've stopped using the Garmin software altogether.

+1 for SportTracks
You can track other workouts (treadmill, swimming, walking etc. or define your own workout such as Tempo etc.) and also track mileage on your shoes (any equipment for that matter).
I second Jerry on SportsTracks...it's very useful, has better maps, and also a good equipment logging system.

Thanks everyone for your tips and comments.
I did download the Sports Track software but I must be missing something because I cannot get it to run.
Thanks again.
Thanks for the tip on the Sport Tracks software. I finally got it to download and run and it is substantially better than the vanilla Garmin software.
