Re: Anyone Else Starting C25K Week of July 6th?

Hi,

I'd like to join.  I actually started last week, so I completed W2D1 today, but I def need the accountability.  I started the program about 2 years ago and got 5 weeks into it before I injured myself.  I think it was a combo of the running and also playing soccer.  If I get through this program by Sept, there is a program to prepare for a 5k in Oct and I'll sign up for that.

I tell you 90 sec goes by soo fast when I'm walking, but jogging it is a whole different story!  Look forward to running with you all!

Re: Anyone Else Starting C25K Week of July 6th?

I plan to start W1D1 today and am looking to find a 5K in the Seattle Tacoma area for sometime in August. I'm not a runner (more of a swimmer), but for years I have wanted to complete a triathlon and need to take some action to make that a reality. Since I don't have a bike or access to a pool on a regular basis, I have decided to start training to run for now. I plan to reward my efforts with a bike next summer.

Just finished W1D1 - had hubby and dog along for support. Not too bad. My days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Starting was the hard part so now that I am up and running am looking forward to day 2.

Re: Anyone Else Starting C25K Week of July 6th?

I started today and it very hard for me. I'm 46 years old and i'm at a good weigh for my height, I've always been a walker but never have been able to run any distance. Coworkers reccomended this program so I'm going to try it. My husband will be doing it with me , which is great but he has a running back ground even though its been alittle while for him. It will be great to hear how it's going for others. I notice that about half way through it got a little easier but then towards the end my legs felt like jello and it took me a little while to recover. I'm accually excited to do it again on Wed. I think we are going to try to use the podcast. I hope it does start to get a little easier though, i feel like I am so weak and out of shape. Any encouragement is welcome!

Re: Anyone Else Starting C25K Week of July 6th?

Count my in please. Started today.  I am 48, lost 31 lbs since this time last year and still run like a t-rex.  Have been walking 3-4 miles per day and 5 miles once a week but running is a whole different story.  I am highly motivated though.  My son just grad from law school and works in Boston and he is a runner.  My dream is to be able to go for a 'jog' with him along the Charles river when I visit him in Oct.   Kim

Hi Jill !

No, I have not started yet... I will be going outside in NC.. so, need to do this either very early am or after dinner.

I have two little boys 3 and 4 years old I am 37 and have always fluctuated with my weight and fitness.

I have never run and fear I'm going have a hard time getting the breathing right..

any suggestions?

Re: Anyone Else Starting C25K Week of July 6th?

I did my first run yesterday and slept like a baby last night!!! The run was not too hard, but not too easy during the last few sets either.

My sneakers are amazing...they really help keep me stable and the hip-hop podcast I downloaded was fun!

I'm a 29 year old female living in ATL and I need to tone, become more active and shed a few pounds...I think this will be the way!

Till Wednesday...

I did my first run yesterday as well.  Got severe chin splints, did a few of the running laps, but then ended up walking because of the pain.  Hopefully, I can complete the running on Wednesdays laps.

I am a 31 yrs old female, also live in ATL.

Re: Anyone Else Starting C25K Week of July 6th?

I'm in. Actually started last week. My daughter, running since middle school and now a college grad, invited me to run with her in a 2K/10K race in mid August. Now I have a reason to train! And 2K seems like a reasonable goal.  Just turned 57 and have been an avid walker for years. I'm ready for this...
