With the 2009 season just a couple months away, teams are prepping for pre-season practice. Lake Travis took home the Mega national title from FootballPower with St. Ignatious and St. Thomas Aquinas finishing 2 and 3. Going into 2009, who is the the preseaon No. 1 team? My top team is Aquinas FL, Cody Riggs and Lamarcus Joyner are two of d-backs in the nation, Id say Byrnes SC is a close 2 maybe even No. 1. Marcus Lattimore is one of the best runners in the country. Byrnes is always loaded. Lakeland FL will real good this year. So many good team out there. So whos No. 1?

I will put in a vote for St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida. You know nobody will be throwing on them. Their cornerbacks are arguably the top two college prospects in the country at that position. They have several other seniors that will play Division I football, too, and they were nearly the top team in the country last year when all these studs were just juniors.
I can't imagine any team being better than Aquinas this season, but that's why they play the games.
I really like Katy and what they have coming back. They will put a new signal caller in place, but Mike Stojkovic will be a solid quarterback, who can run and throw. Will Jeffrey is back at running back and will be key. The receiving core is experienced and most importantly the offensive line is big and experienced led by Shep Klink (6-6 285), who has already committed to Texas A&M. On defense they return a ton of talent as well including safety Sam Holl. This is an experienced group that knows how to win.
Malvern Prep out of Pa might have a down year. They lost alot of talent: QB Billy Conners, WR Gerry Price, RB's Neil Willis and James Connely, also Rob McCabe who was a beast on defense. Not to mention the friars lose their coach Gamp Pelligrini who was one of the all time greats in the Philadelphia area, he retired after last season. The Friars were 10-0 last season, i dont think they wil do quite as well this year.

While PA does not look as strong as some years, a few national polls have teams like Liberty (Bethlehem) and Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg) ranked pretty high in the pre-season. I kno pre-season rankings don't matter too much, but the point is that there should be some pretty good teams from the Keystone State.
