Hey Team!
Nashville is getting closer and closer, and we are looking forward to seeing all of you on your visit to Music City! I know everyone is training hard and getting your fundraising underway. Some of you have asked about different ideas, and many of you have gotten quite creative. Share with the team: how's it going? What are you finding to be a successful approach? What questions do you have? Let us know; share with your runnin' and walkin' brothers and sisters, and remember...
...ya gotta believe! Thanks for being a part of Team McGraw!

Hi Team,
This is Christine Donovan from Geneva, IL. I am one of your Team McGraw teammates. I just wanted to share that I think a "key" for me at least, is to personalize your fundraising page. At first, I was hesitant to share my personal thoughts, and a picture. But after thinking about it, and listening to my heart, I went for it!
The feedback I have received from friends and family has been very positive and I am grateful.
I am excited about this race and meeting our fellow team members. Take care, stay injury free and see you in Nashville!
Ya Gotta Believe!

It's always difficult asking people to donate some of that stuff they work so hard to get.
But you gotta look at it as something bigger than that.
My first attempt at raising funds was attacking all my friends and family,my address book.
Ya know I love ya but c'mon.
Just feel confident that no matter how you do it you are doing a great thing for people in need.
And that's awesome!!
Good Luck... and remember,
When you start doubting yourself...
shut up and run!!
Deano
Deano,
After a long day at school, your comment about "If in doubt, shut up and run" made me laugh! It also reminded me of the movie Forrest Gump, and how Forrest would just run, and run, and run when he was scared. I love that movie!
Seriously, tapping into the email address book is definitley a great way to make contact with your family and friends. I did this too, and at the same time, I was "reconnecting with people" I hadn't corresponded with in awhile. So, overall, it's a win, win situation for everyone!

I am with Deano... My contact list is going to get hit up for NYC... Since I know all of them well, each one of them knows what sacrifice it is for me (applies to everyone on our team) to run a whopping 26.2 miles, and they will inequitably support me for that sacrifice because they know that I would absolutely do it for them... When fundraising it is important to let the donor know your level of commitment, which is usually measured in how much you are participating out of your pocket. In this case, you are contributing far more then whatever is in your bank account, no matter how big it may be... The Nashville run was such a great experience for me, in so many ways, that I am really looking forward to running NYC in November... I will do my best to come up with ideas whereby we can raise additional funds for TMF... Thanks Jeff for making all of this happen... You rock, you country! Ya Gotta Believe! P
Hey Team McGraw,
Here are a couple of new ideas that I'm going to try for fundraising for the Philadelphia ING Classic 1/ 2- Marathon Run on Sept. 20th.
1.) I'm planning on washing cars in my neighborhood over a weekend before the race. This will allow for neighbors to choose a day to have their car washed. Plus if it rains, then I have the "other" day to count on. (If it rains the entire weekend, then I've got a problem!) Also, I'll have a bake sale with lots of goodies for sale. I make a mean chocolate chip cookie!
2.) Plus, I'm also having a "Mary Kay Party" in my home. I have a friend who is a Mary Kay Consultant and she will show her new line of cosmetics and beauty products for the fall. She will donate 20% of my total sales towards my run and for Team McGraw.
3.) If I get my act together, I'm thinking of having a garage sale. All proceeds will go towards my fundraising for Team McGraw.
Hope these ideas help you in your fundraising for your run! They're actually very simple. But with some organization and "elbow grease", as with the car wash, anyone can do any of these things
Just remember..... Ya Gotta Believe!
