Forefoot Pain

Hey Everyone,
I am having a little problem with my feet. My right forefoot starts hurting after 8 miles. I thought maybe it was my shoes, maybe they had broken down, so I got new ones. I went to a PT and he said that I was overpronating and I needed an insert, so I bought the insert and it does help some. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I cannot afford an orthotic and I don't want to go and see a doctor because I don't have health insurance right now. Can anyone think of anything else that might help????
I have three marathons - first marathons EVER and I am getting worried. I am running in one that has a time cut-off which I should be able to do if I can run comfortably. Please HELP me.

Where, exactly, does it hurt? Bottom, top, specific toes, behind/between specific toes, ball of the foot? I can't think of any common forefoot injuries that would wait 8 miles to start hurting. Also, overpronating, by itself, is unlikely to be the cause.

The pain is on the pad of skin right before my toes begin. When it starts hurting I try and run on the outside of my foot so I don't have to land on it. It is really weird.
First of all do not alter your natural gait to compensate for you injury! What happens if you do that is you will get another injury from over compensating. If it hurts that much you should not be running on it.
I can only guess what you have, possibly bursitis or metatarsalgia. You can read about them here:

You should definitely be icing your foot. You may need a foot pad.

Another possibility is a neuroma, which typically occurs between the 2nd an 3rd toes, or the 3rd and 4th.
