Hi guys. Sorry I haven't posted in a while but it's so easy to keep up with you guys on Facebook, and seems like less effort for some reason. In fact if I get a chance this weekend I'm going to figure out how to create us a group on facebook. I'll keep you posted. If I create one, would you guys want to use that rather than this? I get quite annoyed at this sometimes. And we have whittled down to just a few of us left, and I think we all are friends on facebook already anyways.
Carol - good luck with your 5k tomorrow - I know you'll rock it! Let us know how you did.
Carole - counting down the days to Phoenix! I am also going to re-energize on the shirt idea too. I'll be in touch on that!
Will - I walked for years and years before I started running in March, and I only started running because I needed something new to motivate me. Walking is such a great exercise and not as tough on our bodies as running, and when you think about it, the difference in the time it takes to cover a distance is not that great between the two (at least for me)! I walk about a 15 minute mile and run about 12.5. So if I walk four miles it takes me an hour, and if I run four miles it takes me 50 minutes, plus 5 minutes walking before and after (warmup and cooldown), so I have still invested an hour! Keep on walking and keep in touch with us via facebook! I love to look at all those great pictures of food you post!
"Big move" doesn't translate to coming back to the states by any chance, does it?
As for me, I'm doing fine - I run twice a week for about 50 minutes (including warmup and cooldown, plus I have gone to run/walk intervals - 9/1, 8/2, or 7/3, depending on how I feel that day). On the weekend I do a "long" run - last week I went seven miles. I did 7/3 intervals for the first hour, then switched to 5/5 for the rest of it. It took just over an hour and a half. Oh, also - I don't know if anyone has tried electrolyte "snacks", but I took a package of Clif "Shot Bloks" with me, and after about 20 minutes, I ate one of those every so often. I could feel a postive difference in my energy level and I finished strong. So I'm on my way to getting ready for the half marathon!
Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll let you know if I'm smart enough to create a group on facebook! ?:| - CW
