Hello All. I am, obviously, new to this forum. I'm 47 and back to running for the last 2 1/2 years-ish after a hiatus of about 15 years. I had never run farther than 10km ever and that was what I started out training for. Then the bug hit and I thought that just maybe I could run a half marathon. So I did and then I ran 4 more, all in 2008. Then another little niggle worked it's way into my brain. Could I run a full marathon? So I started training and completed the BMO Vancouver Marathon in May of 2009. Along the way I ran another 10km race and another half marathon. Then I thought, well since I'm trained, I'll just continue on. I ran my second marathon September 27, 2009 - The Bellingham Bay International Marathon. I thought again, what the heck, I'm still trained, so I ran the BMO Okanagan International Marathon 2 weeks later on October 11th. Crazy, I know. Then straight into training for the Goofy in January. I have been training for well over a year with just a 1 month break and I'm looking forward to scaling it back a bit in January. I'm not fast, I just get it done.
As for the name - Floweryone - it's just a name with no secrets or hidden meaning. :-)
I look forward to being a part of the Boomers!
Oh, yeah. I'm living in beautiful British Columbia, just outside Vancouver.
