Friday....30 Days Out

Hey Runners and Marathoners......

Its Friday, we've made it through another week's training!

Today's 8 or so miles for me....with 2.5 at a tempo pace thrown in there somewhere in the middle.

Capping off a long week's training here...I should hit 50 miles on the week.

Good luck peaking for the MCM, everyone.

Quick 5 miles at 9:25 pace. Ran into Lucas my local ultrarunning buddy who invited me on a run next week. I told him his 45 mile pace was faster than my 10K pace and proposed coffee instead Ran through Walnut Street to get some pics of the boarded up stores and then into Oakland to try to capture some pics of the damage done last night. I did that successfully and then realized there was a protest so I stopped to catch some pictures and video of that. Then I realized I was in the middle of a protest and if anything escalated like it did last night then I'd be in the middle of smoke bombs and possible other escalations so I ran myself home. On the roads there were military vehicles; it was such a surreal experience. I have a phone conference in 10 min, but I'll post the pics later if anyone is interested. It's so crazy to see dozens and dozens of police in riot gear outside your office!

Did abs, weights and 13m and walked another mile.  It was all good.  The run was good, I ran at a 9:50 pace.  Not quite as good as my 20 miler last week, but it felt good all the way.  I sprinted hard the last .2 miles.  Life's good!!!  Kat, stay away from police in riot gear.

Charlotte, great run (another one!) Now girl, have you seen how cute men in uniform are? It's a good time to be a single lady in Pittsburgh: an extra 3,000 men in uniform AND Jake Gyllenhall is filming a movie until December in my neighborhood. Swoon  Ok, and to make this thread relevant, I just rocked my phone conference so I'm off for an hour of yoga before tonight's festivities To those racing tomorrow: make them great!

Yeah, I do notice how delicious those men are.  I guess you'll just have to faint when they come close and enjoy being carried away.

I got an 8.37 mile loop out around our old farm while my husband finished up the bush hog job.  It was hot and muggy, but I was pretty pleased with the results since I was so puny earlier in the week.  I hope everyone has a great weekend.  As usual, I gotta fly!

    Nice run Becky!

I had a 6 mile run this evening and had to run at the gym since I did not want to get hit by lightning.  They did pull someone out of the water at the beach this evening and they think he got hit by lightning.  I am sure it had nothing to do with running but reinforces the fact that I won't get out there if there is lightning.  Have a great weekend, only one more full week until taper time!

Apparently quite a few posters here like yoga.  Daughter likes bikram yoga.  I have been really sore and stiff the past couple of weeks, so daughter advised that I should accompany her to this bikram yoga thing ... first time for me.

So, I learned that yoga in 106 degree heat was apparently invented by the Nazis as a torture method.  It works ... as a torture, I mean.  I was lobbied by daughter and instructor to give it another go.

    Uhh, okay.

Daughter assures me that the instructor on Thursday may be what I need.  I will give it a go this Thursday ...
