I see sportspower.com has done a nice review of "Our Boys: A Perfect Season on the Plains with the Smith Center Redmen."

I appreciate it. I'm Joe Drape, th author. I'm proud of "Our Boys." The Redmen have won 68 in a row, the longest high school winning streak in the nation. Coach Roger Barta is the kind of coach who never raises his voice or talks about winning or losing. The town is amazing. My family and I moved there for most of last year. We were through there last week, too, as they kicked off their season with a 59-0 victory over Plainville.
If you want to learn more about the book, which is a New York Times Bestseller, and see some video and highlights and keep up with them: check out www.weareredmen.com
The book was a true page-turner. I have been familiar with Smith Center for a long time (as well as Pittsburg Colgan before them) as I grew up in Kansas City and covered high school sports in Lawrence, KS for a few years (Lawrence High knows something about success, too).
I finished the book and I was honestly proud of the entire town for keeping such a wonderful perspective on success. I always kept an eye on Smith Center scores as the winning streak grew and grew. Now I'm rooting for the streak to last forever.
The book review at SportsPower sums it up well, but it's worth repeating: sports fans will love this book. I can't stress it enough.
