I was a volunteer again at the start of this year's race, and first of all, kudos to anybody who got into the water under those conditions!
I've volunteered at start/T1 for LA Tri several times and noticed that, because it's a point-to-point race, there's more than the usual amount of used plastic drink bottles, foot wash basins and towels left behind in T1. Volunteers pick all that stuff up and put it in the trash, but it seems a shame that it all winds up in a landfill.
I wonder if next year some green-oriented volunteer group might want to come and sort out the plastic and, if possible, all of the towels for recycling?
