what do you do with your top while running

It has started to get chilly in the mornings here and when I head out for my am run I need a pullover. However, once I get going , it gets hot quickly. What does everyone do wih the added piece of clothing after they take it off while you are out on a run. Also, what's the best thing out there to put your keys and cell phone/mace etc in. I hate carrying stuff with me, but sometimes on long runs it's a matter of safety. I cannot imagine wearing a belt...are there ones out there that are less of a nuisance?

I always tie my top around my waist (assuming it's long sleeved!) and while I don't carry mace, I do have a cell phone, lip balm, tissue, and sometimes my house key or car fob. I like shorts or pants that have a zip pocket on the side or the small of your back. I don't carry music, but a lot of tops have an MP3 player pocket and it accommodates my cell phone.

For races or longer runs, I have one of these http://www.spibelt.com/spibelt.php . It's not your typical waistpack. It stretches to hold an amazing amount of stuff, and I wear mine under my shirt where it's not even noticeable. I bought it at a running expo along with almost everyone else it seems, because I sure saw a lot of them at the race the next day! They're great.

I tie my top around my waist too if it's long sleeved.  If it's short sleeved, I tuck it in my waistband.

Most runs and races, I just put my stuff in my pocket (all my shorts have pockets).  However, if it's an extra long race (half marathon or better), I also use a SPI belt.  They're great because when empty, they're very small & they stretch to accommodate the items you put in them.  I usually have my phone, car key, money, and my health insurance card in mine.  I tuck it into the waistband of my shorts so it doesn't show or bounce around.
