Mon- 9 miles
Tue- 9 miles
Wed- am 9 miles pm 4 miles
Thu- 10 miles including 30 minute tempo run
Fri- 11 miles
Sat- rest
Sun- 9 miles

62 miles in total. I feel like I'm really half-assing my training lately, general life and minor aches and pains have kept me from putting some good weeks together. It hasn't been terrible, but not exactly stellar either.

Re: Spring Marathon Trainers' Thread 11/19
Busy week so had work around my "commute runs":

Mon - Thurs 6.1m each @ 7.30
Sat 9 miles @ 7.45
Total 33

thats my third straight 30-35 week and assuming one more this week I should be in good shape to start the Cool running Intermediate programme next week.

Re: Spring Marathon Trainers' Thread 11/19
Well I guess the posting of weekly training begins. I'm about three weeks out from my 18-week Marathon plan. Still in recovery mode from NYC on 11/5 as last week's runs show. Had to get through a tight hamstring that seems to have cleared up. Basically easy runs for the next three weeks trying to build the mileage back up. Have a 5 mile turkey trot on Thurs, lets see if I have any speed in these legs.

Sun->Wed: Off
Thu: 6 mi, 47:28, 7:55/mile
Fri: 6 mi, 47:31, 7:55/mile
Sat: 8.03mi, 1:04:57, 8:05/mile
Tot: 20.03 miles

Hopefully, this week I'll be up to ~45-50, then 60-70 then 70-80. My first week of training I will be away on vacation so I'll try to get some quality workouts in, but probably won't get the mileage up.

Re: Spring Marathon Trainers' Thread 11/19
Thanks Andy. Don't worry - we all know life gets very busy!

I have been something of a slacker lately. I am recovered from Des Moines and am now just kind of floating along until my Boston training commences next month. I did a 4.5 mile race last Saturday and I just wasn't fully into it. I ended up winning my AG (I think 4th woman o/a) and having a good time (7:08 pace), but it just did not feel stellar. I have a 5K coming up on Thanksgiving which I am really hoping to set a big PR in. Hopefully I haven't lost too much of my fitness with my recent laziness!

M - 4.3 miles with 6 striders (6:02, 6:07, 6:05, 5:52, 5:56, 5:26)
T - 6.49 easy (9:06)
W - rest
R - 6.07 easy (9:18)
F - rest
Sa - 4 miles progressive run
Su - 9.04 (8:51)

Total: 29.9 miles

Re: Spring Marathon Trainers' Thread 11/19
Hey Andy. No worries. Life get busy for all of us from time to time

I actually bit the bullet and signed up for Boston last week. Now, I HAVE to train. Eek!

Ok, as for training last week, let's see. Last week was another easy week just easing my mileage back up.

Su-12 miles with a group. I broke down and found running buddies. I wasn't sure if I'd like running with others but it was actually really fun. Anyway, we ran on muddy hilly trails and I got filthy and that part was fun too.

Mo-6 easy miles at lunch time outside

Tu-6 easy miles at lunch time outside

We - mixing things up-6 easy miles at lunchtime on the treadmill

Thur - 6 easy miles at lunch time outside

Fri- off

Sat- 6 easy miles around the neighborhood.

Not particularly exciting but I'm back up to 42 miles this week and I felt pretty good doing it. Can't ask for much more than that right now!

Good weeks everyone!

PS Runninlaw--you know what they say about great minds (check out our first sentences! )

PPS Runninlaw--congrats on winning your AG on a less than stellar day (although it doesn't sound like it was nearly as bad as it felt!)

Re: Spring Marathon Trainers' Thread 11/19
This week was the intersection between recovery plan and 1st week of 18-week training plan. Miles low and slow. I'm also back playing ice hockey Su&M nights, so I'm moving long runs to Sat and speedwork to W to avoid injury and, hopefully, not skate like a guy who just ran 15 miles.

M - hockey
T - 6.5 w/7or8 striders
W - 6
Th - 5 (20 minutes x 86-89% HR)
F - yech, weights (i stopped lifting before MCM, so very sore)
Sa - 12
Su - hockey

Tot: 29.5 (4hr40m)

Re: Spring Marathon Trainers' Thread 11/19
Great week overall. Felt pokey for most of it, but I did have some fast miles in there.

M - 9 miles recovery
T - 8.5 miles, 6x800 metre repeats included
W - 7.5 miles general aerobic
T - 8+ miles with 7x.4mile hill repeats
F - 12 miles to work in two stages, 8 miles general to downtown and 4 miles slow with a running buddy
S - 5.5 miles fast and hard, surprising since I'd started out as a slow run
S - 15 miles in 2:08.

I'm about 18 miles off of a pace that would see me reach my NEW goal of 2750 this year, I'm sitting at about 2422 now.

I must be dumber than a box of rocks - but...

SIGN ME UP FOR BOSTON 2007 - 2:44.

Just finished Philly yesterday (2:45:48) and my vow to never run another marathon lasted less than 24 hours.
