Re: Creaky Bones 5K Run/Walk - The Pier - St. Pete Reviews

Just wanted to say I ran this event last night.  It was a beautiful course, and the event sponsors did an outstanding job.  The t-shirt given out was the best t-shirt I've ever gotten from a 5k.  The design reminded me of the old Grateful Dead shirts with the dancing skeletons.

Food and drinks were given out after the event and the sponsors went out of their way to provide great service.  I will definitely recommend this event to anyone in the future.

Creaky Bones- it was a fun race, but im wondering conspiracy?!- a benefit race for arthiritis that is mostly on a concrete sidewalk?! kinda fishy!- the mile markers could have been more visible, but its a night race, right. (i wonder if most people even know that u should NOT run on concrete, esp if you are heavy, old, or injury proned- just ask any orthopedist and they'll tell u!) also i liked the one-man-wide finish shute, as i had to tackle the runner in front of me as me and the caped wonder sprinted to the finish- good race, batboy!

It was a fun race, but could have been better organized. The runners were not provided w/ tracking chip, t-shirt has a date  Oct 17- Sarasota, and this race was in St. Pete on Oct. 29th!

There should have been more than one water stand!

It was a fun race! The shirst were nice, but too bad I didn't get one, since they ran out of my size early.  I even though I pre-registered, so I definitely should have received one in my size.  They are supposed to mail me one, but we'll see if that actually happens.  Agree that It could have been better organized.  The starting and finish line areas were extremely cramped.  There was no water in site once you finished the race.  But overall fun, with participants in costumes and good spirits!

Some improvements I'd like to see: 1. the water station should have been lit up--I missed it on the way back 2. Start the race out front on the pier instead of in the back, it created a huge bottle-neck, and especially without timing chips-it took me 41 seconds to get to the starting line from where I started and 3.  timing chips...I mean what road race doesn't have them these days....other than that a good race.

It was a fun race.  Could have been better organized.  The shirts are nice but I was unable to get one in size I ordered when preregistered.  That is upsetting.

Race was fun.  Should start in front and finish in front.  Course was very dark.  Could not find water stations.  All in all, besides no water at finish, I enjoyed the race very much.

Fun race, despite the concrete, the dark, the water stops and the lines too long for the free food, but who's whining?   Does anyone know where we can find results or pictures?

I concur with all earlier comments - course was too dark, sidewalks were too narrow, and not enough water stops.  Overall it was fun though.

Also - I'm very interested in seeing the results?  Where are they?  Anybody know?

Very nice Course

A bit confusing with very narrow roads, NO LIGHTING, TOO DARK and Runners coming towards other runners, , people coming face on with others, not sure what that was about.

NO police presence after the race when walking back to where parking was, with "questionable" people, some in groups hanging out . NOT SAFE

VERY DARK

Disorganized Finish with Time Cards

No Race Picture's, they should have been up by the weekend, IF there were any, may I suggest Brightroom or www.marathonfoto for races, I think they are about the best.

No Chip timing,  why aren't the times posted? they should have been by Friday evening, this is Monday night

ONE water station with WARM water

One or 2 rude organizers that were giving answers to questions, making faces, and gestures in regard to Children race, with the child standing there.

Costume Participation FANTASTIC, however NO organization or recognition to that division

How about if you get a new design as well for your next race ?, this one is good, its just used ~

This was a fun race.  I enjoyed it being at night which I expected to be dark.  I feel it was disorganized at the start--too cramped.  Having to search for the water after the race was a bit disappointing.

Why aren't the results posted on Coolrunning? A lot of people who paid to get in this race are still waiting......

Loved the run.  Add chip timing and post results.  Beer line was ridiculous.
