Overall a nice race - the organizers did a good job dealing with more participants than they planned for. Tip for next year's runners: bring your sunglasses - for half of the race you are heading due East and the sun is in your face.
The race has potential but the organizers need to work out the problems with the start. You cant have the start of a race head down a narrow street with cars on each side. If you were in the middle or back you had a very tough time getting to the point where you could actually start running.
Overall a pretty good race but could use more attention to details. I agree with the other review that the start was too crowded on the narrow street dodging cars. A bit dissapointed that the chip didn't record individual start times. It was also confusing where to park as there were no signs on Linebaugh directing to parking or the start of the race. It took 45 minutes to get through the line on Friday to pick up our race packs. There was NO ONE handing out water at the finish, just a couple of bottles under chairs. Finishing at 33 minutes and no water left in the coolers. The goody bag was full of great discounts and deals.
Great neighborhood race just a few problems to work out for next year.
Need more than 3 port o lets for over 600 runners. Should probably post and/or alert the runners that it is a horn start and not a chip start. And actually b/c of the limited/narrow start space it would be best to do a chip timed start so that everyone doesn't have to push threw the narrow streets at the same time. On a positive note: GREAT T-SHIRT Quality and VERY FRIENDLY Volunteers!!!!
As with the other reviews, nice race but the start was very unorganized. Dodging all the cars was not only dangerous but it really made it difficult to get in a good position to actually start running. The only other issue was the fact that they ran out of water and runners had to wait 30 minutes or so for more water to be brought in. How about someone calling out the time at the turnaround?
