Re: Favorite Basketball Movie

I loved Semi-Pro.  Not a serious "basketball movie," but I love Will Ferrell and enjoyed the references to the ABA.

Glory Road - The story of sacrifice for the team and the meaning of "team" great

He Got Game - Jesus Shuttlesworth is the man.  Shows how much more than a game basketball really is...

Re: Favorite Basketball Movie

Blue Chips is undoubtedly the best basketball movie. Penny Hardaway is an unbelievable actor.  Hoop dreams is real good. Kind of sad in ways but it is just real life. Two chicago kids taking different basketball paths but have the same common dream. Great movie.

Have to go with blue chips nick nolte and shaq in the same movie. penny hardaway could of had a movie career if he wasn't so good at basketball.

Re: Favorite Basketball Movie

I'm going to have to go with Hoosiers, too. Everything about that movie was awesome, save the 80s techno music during the action-sequence montages.

Hoops Dream moved slow but was incredibly insightful into the life of highly touted teenage basketball players. You really felt like you were in Chicago with those kids as they chased the dream. Seeing them go from boys to men was really neat.

I also liked Blue Chips, He Got Game and Love and Basketball.

Re: Favorite Basketball Movie

I got to go wit He Got Game. Give a role to Denzel Washington and he will make movie worth watching, plus Ray Allen has always been a good basketball player. This movie was perfect for the both of them.

Re: Favorite Basketball Movie

I love Blue Chips because it showed the behind the scenes look at college basketball as a corporation not a team. Also great soundtrack in that movie

I like Hoosiers as a serious basketball movie, and I like Space Jam as a comedy.
