...or that's how I'd describe it. It began on Monday with my hip feeling sore, and the soreness worsened on Tuesday. I took yesterday off, and that was when the pain in the adductor area began. This morning it woke me up at 2:30, the adductor aching and burning.
The hip soreness seems to fall in line with IT band issues I've had in the past, and I think I may be asking for all this because I just started running again after a year-long layoff. Still, I'm doing only 3 miles a day. I guess even that is too much if my body isn't ready for it. It's so hard to hold back!
My question: the adductor doesn't hurt while I run, only after. The hip soreness hurts at the beginning of my run but goes away as I run. Is it going to be smartest just to lay off running until the pain goes away, or...(ready for the dumb question?)...can I run through this? Also, do you think using the foam roller will help with the hip soreness, and is it possible that the adductor strain is directly related to ITB irritation? Like I said, I've had ITB problems in the past, but I've never had this adductor strain problem. Ugh. I just want to RUN.
