Back in to Austin hills! I am going for a 15 miles run today. I had it easy for a couple of days In Houston flat runs!
I decided I better take off my medal and put it lovingly away while I start bucking up for my next marathon in March! The euphoria fades a bit, but I still feel so good! I did run into a door yesterday so my rib hurts. (What a klutz!) I was worried about how I'd do today and at first it hurt, but it seemed like as I got warmed up, my muscles came in line to support the sore place and no more worries. I was a bit slower than I have been, but I didn't want to push it. I got 3.97 miles done on Monday and 6.57 miles done today. I will slowly return to my weekly program soon.
Good runs everyone. I did 3 fast miles for me that is, 8.55 pace, then went for a 5 mile walk with my neighbor, always fun.
Same O same Oo 6 for me. tomorrow I get to mix it up. running a 10 mile trail loop at 5 am with 3 co-workers......break out he headlamps, here we come.
Hey Immer, I'll let you know how the Dizzy fifty loop is tomorrow.
Next up: Rocket City Marathon (12/12), then Recover from the Holidays 50K(12/31), Mountain Midst 1/23/10
Just rest for me today. Lots of trying to plan next year. I found a 50 miler in April that is three weeks after a 50K (perfect!) but three weeks before the Pittsburgh marathon which is three weeks before the Columbia Triathlon (too much??). I thought I wanted to stop this ultra thing!
I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.
Up Next: Rest! And celebrating my JFK50 finish with a vacation in Roma! | My Running Blog
Thanks, Shawn! Have a great time, but please be careful; with all the leaves on the ground and headlamp shadowing, things may not be quite what they appear........

Yes, it was very challenging this morning with headlamps. After the first 5 miles of killer hills from the Mountain Mist couse we did 3+ on the south end of the Dizzy loop. The Dizzy trail was nice, not too many rocks and the elevation was not bad either. It looks like it is going to be a beautiful race. I was able to keep a stedy pace of a little under 9 for those 3 miles.
I am still wondering why I signed up for Mountain Mist, but I make it through, but my pace varries from 10-11/per depening on the climb and had to stop once on a climb to look for the lung I dropped.
