Ok folks - I know it's not MCM related but I need some words of encouragement b4 this weekend. I ran Columbus Marathon on 10/18 and am running Indy Marathon on the 7th. Nuts - yes but I really think I can do it. Not looking for an outstanding time but I have to tell you that this morning's run was AWESOME!!!!!
I have some doubts though - is the body healed enough....what is my goal????
You know, the usual questions.
BTW, congrats to all the MCM's. I have got to do that race next year.
Take care!

I'm doing the same. Several of us have monthly marathons planned, so you're not the only lunatic out there, don't worry ![]()
MCM last weekend and San Antonio coming up Nov. 15th, then Vegas three weeks after that.
I use the marathon as my last "long run," then ran 13 yesterday, will do about 8-10 next weekend, then marathon the next. I've had several injuries recently, so I'm taking it pretty easy otherwise. And don't expect a great "time" at each marathon if you're running them this close together. Though you may surprise yourself. I BQ'd at Austin three weeks after running the Houston Marathon.
Good luck and enjoy! Most importantly, if this is the first time you're doing this, don't set a time goal and let your body rest in between. You won't forget how ot run, I promise.
Of course you can do it!
We have done 20 this year so far and scheduled for 5 or 6 more by end of the year. We are not that fast but try to do 4:00 or better every time.
My secret is lots of mileage, I don't believe tapering unless badly injured.
Ran a really slow 3 last night with my daughter. You should have seen her red face about half way through the run lol.
But I ran 4 miles this morning and I SWEAR - it was like I had never run before. I was having a hard time catching my breath and my legs felt a bit heavy.
This better not happen 4 miles into the marathon or it is going to be a very long day.
Maybe I was just having a bad morning?

Running with my daughters and seeing them follow my foot steps is a joy.
3 marathons in October
3 marathons in November
2 or 3 marathon in December
3 marathons in January
2 or 3 in February
2 or 3 in March
maybe just one in April?
No big thing. I don't run much during the week, just half an hour a day if a can. I don't train. I try to do at least a 13 mile run on the weekends with no marathons.
On marathon weekends I just go out and run for 4 hours or so. If I am lucky someone hands me something to drink every couple of miles.
If you have pain, then the body isn't completely healed. I always have something hurting.
I have PR'd the weekend following a bad marathon.
We have run several doubles (2 marathons in 1 weekend). We might do one in December.
My goal is to run the best I can at all times since I can't control the weather.
Yes - You are nuts and it may get worse.
Well that didn't go as planned. I probably went out a bit too fast and REALLY paid for it the last 11 miles.
Quads got very sore at mile 15 and I knew I had to slow way down if I was going to make it. There were
serious thoughts of just coming off the course before I really hurt myself. Being the maniac I am - I kept
running (barely) and just tried to get through it. By the end of the journey it had taken me 4:10:04 to complete
it.
Lesson Learned - listen to your body - YA BIG DIMMY![]()

Congratulations on your finish! And lessons learned.
We've come this far and it's still the same,
Runnin' out here in the rain.
Just one more mile, if only you could fly.
(Apologies to T. Rush and J. Tempchin, for the paraphrase)
Glad to hear you finished and let's be honest, your time was great if you were in my age group. Actually, let's be honest, your time was great in any age group. It didn't look like a struggling marathon to me. Congratulations.

~15 minutes faster than I usually run!
Congrats!
I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.
