Great race... good location... just a bit too rocky
This was definitely the most difficult feat that I had conquered. I was exacerbated that I completed the 9 mile course and felt superhuman. It was way to rocky for me and dangerous at times, however, trail running shoes are a definite must here. I enjoyed the organization that put this event together and will do this all over again next year!
Loved this race. Rock gardens were lots of fun. Only down side was parking.
This race was fabulous!!! There was great support along the way, great organization, and it was very challenging (my first trail race). Special thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, and event planners. I had a really good time and so did my daughter. I can't wait to do it again! Wonderful.
PS- I don't know your race number or if you will do a review but; to the guy in the gray Army shirt, and blue shorts, THANK YOU, for keeping me going, I appreciate you! I'm sure you were unaware that you did, but you helped!
Loved the course! I liked the 2 laps for the reason of knowing whats next on the second lap, which allows you plan how hard you push yourself in different places. As for the rocks they were real, they fun ,but not real fun but that trail running. Hope you do the race again!
Well run and organized race through the woods. I really appreciate the tight coordination between the race organizer and volunteers. The course was tough but rewarding.

Ran it in 2009. Great, challenging race. I was not mentally prepared for the terrain - it's a rocky, tight single track for the first couple miles. It smooths out to a slightly wider, slightly smoother single track towards the end. Lots of hairpin turns.
They start off the race on a walking/biking path, which thins out the crowd a little bit. I'd really recommend that stronger runners get in front, and casual runners hang back. I saw a handful of falls from people trying to pass, and expended a lot of energy trying to pass people myself.
This was my first "official" trail race. Very, very, very rocky with long hills. A bit scary and difficult at times (for me). I was just THRILLED I didn't fall down!
Very well marked course with great support all along the way.Well organized, which is something that often lacks at races. Hope to try it again next year!
This was my first trail run and would highly recommend it to all runners. It was significantly more challenging than road races due to the rocky hills and constant changes in elevation. I felt lucky to finish without a fall.
The entire race was well organized and managed. I liked how the results were updated every 15 minutes for everyone to view. Thanks again to the diligent race coordinators and volunteers.
A wonderful trail run! As challenging as it was, believe it or not, it was a piece of cake compared to the Frogtown Challenge (4.3 miles) last month! It also helped that I train on the trails at Providence Park next door to my home every day, which are virtually identical to the rocky rooted hills at Big Creek. So it was 58 minutes of delightful, hilly trail running in picture-pefect weather. Very well organized and staffed, too. And for once, at 68.5 years old, I was not the oldest - there was a 72-year old male finisher! Would love to meet him.
This was an amazing trail run. It was very well organized and the terrain was rocky and up and down. I enjoyed it, although I did fall and injure myself at mile 5 and had to stop amid my 9 miles, I would do it again!!!
Great race, Tim always puts on an awesome event. Keep up the good work!
This was a great run. I really enjoyed it. It was an easy course but very fun with lots of turns and a little bit of rock and root, which was good for my wife as it was her first run ever. Great volunteers, good organization, and a nice turnout of 350 runners. Shirts were nice, would like a little more color in them. Also, I prefer trophies with placement detail more than medals, but that is just me.
Overall, if I lived in the area, we were in Atlanta for the weekend, I would go again.
I thought this was a great trail run. My first experience doing a trail run race and I won my age group. I live in the area near where the run was held and biked over. It was a great experience. The weather was perfect, the course was great, the staff was friendly and helpful, the bathrooms were right there, and a great turnout of runners. Thanks alot! I plan to do it again next year.
