numb groin

It seems that an ill-fitting bike could make numb parts of the body: hands, toes, etc. But what about the groin? When I ride for an extended period of time, it seems to 'fall asleep.' Is this poor riding position, or bicycle position?

thank you.

How long is "an extended period"? When I first started riding a road bike (Feb) I experienced that sensation when I rode for more than 20-30 minutes. Now I have gone an hour without any problems. I didn't change anything other than getting some biking shorts.

Get thee to a good bike shop and have your fit checked.

Numbness in that area is NOT a good thing. There is a major nerve and blood vessel servicing this vital area, you are putting pressure on that nerve and maybe cutting off blood flow.

Either your bike is not fitted correctly, or you have a seat that is not right for your anatomy.
