My all time favorite female athlete would be Michelle Akers, US soccer player and member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. She's a leader and an incredibly strong and passionate person, which is why I like her. She suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome and would often times need IVs during or after games and you could see it in her face that she really left it all out on the field cause she just loves the game and loves to win for her teammates. Solid athlete in my book!

Verena "Vreni" Schneider /Switzerland/alpine skiing

With five Olympic medals &mdash three of them gold &mdash in her collection, Swiss alpine skier Vreni Schneider is considered the top female ski racer in Switzerland and one of the best female skiers the world has ever seen. Born in 1964, Schneider's winning streak during the 1988-1989 season &mdash when she took 14 World Cup races, a record she still holds today &mdash and her performance at the Olympics were among the achievements that earned her the moniker the "Swiss Sportswoman of the Century." Schneider retired in 1995 and now runs a ski and snowboard school in her hometown of Elm, Switzerland.

Gail Deavers......she is by far the best athlete in my eyes.  I had a chance to talk with her one on one a couple of times and she's the most positive person I've ever met in sports!  Her work ethic is unbelievable!
