ORIGINAL POST:
Today is Saturday and I am actually going to start NEXT Sunday (I like beginning on Sundays for some reason) March 28th for W1D1.
If anyone wants to join during this week too, I'd LOVE the company/support/motivation.
I am a SAHM of 3 (11, 9, almost 2) and just turned 40. I have attempted c25k a few times but have been sidelined for various reasons. I have been walking and have been in the gym of the past week and a half and am ready to set a date to start, once again. I want to just walk for about another week before I start W1D1. However, just starting this thread will hold me accountable!!
I also want to lose about 15-20 lbs and hope that this will help with that goal as well.
So who is out there wanting to start sometime soon as well??? (I was a lurker for about a month before I said a peep - I know you're out there too!!!)

Count me in
OK - sounds good.
I've been wanting to start - I actually get out and wind up walking for the most part still.
So your idea sounds great!
I'm 41 - single mom of 2 teen girls. I work shift work, currently on nights.
I've been working out w/other women at boot camp and that trainer (
) has had me running!! And I've actually been able to do it! a lil...
Will you be starting out outside? or in on a TM ?

OK - I just signed up for my 1st 5K. It's 5/8 - so no more "oh maybe I'll start tomorrow"!! Gotta get ready

yay! the power of 3 (so far)! welcome Deb and 911jir!!
911jir - good for you already signing up for a 5k! to answer your question, i will be doing most of my 'training' outside - I think. Ha. that's what i've always done, but times are kinda different now (having a 2 yr old in tow) so the treadmill might be easier. i "enjoy" it much more outside, but i guess we'll see how this all works. so, i guess to honestly answer your question is 'i don't know.' ha.

I plan on starting next week as well. I have never really ran at all or any distance. My wife is an avid runner and has convinced me to sign up for a couple races so I wanted to make sure i don't embarrass her or me. i have started walking this week with light jogging and decided to start 1st week of April.

Count me in too !! I've never aspired to be a runner until I heard about this program and now I really want to prove to myself I can do it !....but definitley need motivation & accountability to keep myself going ![]()
Count me in too! I have been doing the TM for the last 2 weeks..weather has not been too good to tread out much! Need some motivation to keep this going..thanks! Look forward to this. What is the program you are planning to follow?
Started c25K on 03/20/2010

I'm in. I'm a fresh face here. I found this site while searching for forums to research buying a pair of running shoes. This program is just what I need, I am starting a running program to be able to pass a police physical of running a mile and a half in 20 minutes. I am 42 years old and am shooting to get into the police academy here in Dallas TX. The age cutoff is 44. I am a big guy, 5"10" 250 so this is gonna be tough but I know I can do it.
I started yesterday but would love to join this new thread!
I am 32 and a SAHM with three kids (8, 6 and 22 months). I am very over weight and have never done anything like this before. I run will run in the evenings when my partner is home to look after the kids, outside and in the dark!
welcome everyone - i love that our group is growing!
my name is Andrea by the way - i added my name (figured it out - lol) to my signature.
goingtorun - be careful in the dark!!!!!
metro - good luck on the PA - we'll be here for support - you can do it.
(i wish i could see EVERYONE'S replies at once so i can respond to each - anyone know how to do that when you are replying to this thread??)

(I finally just opened another window and have 2 screens going so I don't have to do single replies to each of you.)
hanailey - you sound exactly like me! i was the same exact way - like i said before, i have been sidelined 3 times now and that is VERY frustrating. but i think i deserve an "A" for perserverance because, here i am 4 years later and i am going to give it, yet, another attempt. i still have that 'want' though.
pragyan - i am doing the c25k program - i'm under the assumption that everyone is doing the c25k on this thread - good job for doing the TM first - our weather has been very up and down lately as well - i hope to hit the road (walking) today though. are you going to do the c25k as well?
i WILL walk today - i have to - i didn't walk yesterday or the day before. T minus 5!!

I'm in, I always seem to catch threads like this after they started so I am glad to get this one when I did. I have started the C25k many times but this time plan to finish. I want to do a run in October across the Mackinaw Bridge. I plan to run outside weather permitting, otherwise I will be on the treadmill.
I am excited to get started now.
