Question about the charity...

I just completed my first half marathon this past weekend (Shamrock). I did it in 2:07. I came across
this half browsing the internet. I see the race costs $75, but are you required/expected to bring in money for the
charity? Just curious.
I am not familiar with that race but most races use portions of the proceeds of the registration cost as a donation to the charities. The race raises awareness for the different charities and if you feel compelled to give extra to the organizations I am sure they would be grateful, but by no means is it a requirement.
Brent,
Congrats on you finish!
there is no charity directly attached to the Marine Corps Historical Half Marathon, however there are charities you can run for in this event but not required to.
Ive done this race the last 2 years and its a great event, and plan on running it every year i can.
Dennis
It's not only about finishing, its about finishing healthy!
Brent,
Congratulations on your finish! The Half Marathon is an awesome distance. Like Dennis said, you can register for this one without having to run for a charity. See you there!
