Re: Marathon Racing Flats Recommendations
Runninlaw - Not sure on female side, but I use the Asics magic racers (5k - marathon) - (Not sure what number IV or maybe VI - pretty light for my stature (200#) feet never get beat up, but they seem to put me in a position to beat my quads up.

Re: Marathon Racing Flats Recommendations
I just ordered a pair of Adidas Rotterdams and a pair of Mizuno Wave Elixers. Both are lightweight trainers with some stability (I cannot do the neutral shoes). I'll give them a try and see how they work. Road Runner sports had them on sale so I ended up getting both pairs for a total of $100.

Re: Marathon Racing Flats Recommendations
i would recommend the asics gel speedstars or the speedstar 2's. they are lightweight, between 8.5 and 9 ounces, and offer superior cushioning that is easily enought to get you through a marathon. hey run between 80 and 90 dollars, depending on where u buy them.

I use the Mizuno Precision for my marathons. Lightweight with just the right amount of cushion and support. For the half marathon on down, I run in a pair of Mythos Racers. Not brave enough to take them the full marathon distance, though, as they don't have too much support.

Try the Adidas Adizero RCs. A little over 7 ounces and well cushioned.

I would never want to run a marathon in T4s because they don't have nearly enough cushioning but the RCs actually had very good cushioning when I wore them for the Pocono Marathon this year. My legs felt great even though there were a lot of downhills.

Re: Marathon Racing Flats Recommendations
I haven't done a full in them, but I was thrilled with my DS-Racers (VII) for the NY Half marathon. The fit and feel was very similar to my DS-Trainer XI, but lighter and faster.

My next marathon will be in these, no doubt.

I'm M, 145lbs.
