I started training for my first real ride, 2x weekly spinning classes, weekly weightlifting class and cardio class. Plus doing between 15 and 20 miles on the trails. So the week before the first ride, I fell off my bike and broke my foot. I've only been in the cast for a week, but terrified that all of my work for the last few months is wasted. I wont get out of the cast for another week and then another three weeks in a hard shoe cast before I can start biking again. What kind of exercises can I start doing now? I've been doing leg lifts at my desk and my upper body gets a work out every time I use the crutches. Btu what other exercises can I do? I really dont want to have to start at ground zero again. Oh - and I'm not young, so I know its going to take some time for my body to rebound.
