My father suffered from two heart attacks this past year where he was also found to have diabetes as well. He also gets kidney stones and has been for a while now. Does anyone know what kind of diet is good for this? I haven't known much of what causes kidney stones especially.
I would have him drink Vita Coco, it's been known to help break up kidney stones. There are also a ton of nutrients in there, more potassium than a banana and more electrolytes than a sports drink. I hope your father feels better and I hope this helps.
Diabetes is a common cause of heart disease and the life factors that causes one also is bad for the other (lack of exercise, bad diet, overweight). First off he needs to begin a walking routine. A cycling program also works. Next he has to redo his diet by cutting out most saturated fats, trans fats, simple and starchy carbohydrates. Add healthy fats like salmon, tuna, sardines, nuts, flax seed, olive oil, increase fiber, vegetables, fruit, beans, sweet potato and some whole grains. No white anything (rice, flour, bread, potato). Watch his salt intake and limit read meats and fried foods.
Slowly I would add light resistance exercises to the walking. For kidney stones depending on type, lemon juice can be of great benefit. For calcium based Stones (80% of occurrences) lemon juice in works to lessen reoccurrence.
Diabetes is a condition that continues to haunt men of all ages. With juvenile Diabetes becoming severely common, the bottom-line is that – NO ONE IS SAFE. You have always diabetes food to eat to prevent
diseases like cancer and heart attacks
