Apparently this condition is rare enough to be handled differently than "normal" FAI. About 2/3s down this study you will see mention of this fact under "Discussion." http://www.ajronline.org/cgi/content/full/187/6/1412
I'm not sure if every unusual thing seen on an MRI is as important to pain/symptom as it may be to treatment options. It may not be as much an attempt to fit you to a procrustean bed as a way to avoid making things worse. Increased risk of osteoarthritis in an FAI patient is a big deal.
While the above study is an academic exercise for radiologists and surgeons, you could probably get a little more real-world support from this thread...

I try to keep within 90% of reading the whole thing, but it gets enough participation to be nearly impossible to digest. The people here have had every kind of diagnosis, prognosis, and I-don't-knowsis to cope with, and there's probably somebody out there reading with the same condition and actual treatment experience you will encounter. I'm surprised they didn't notice your thread, so give it a try and good luck!
