Be Careful in Orlando - Frauds.

I have signed up for the past 3 cycling events in Orlando. To say they were disorganized and a fraud is an understatement. The contact emails provided either go unresponded or are dead links. The phone numbers are also dead. No one replies to anything.

The last race, no one showed up. Nor did anyone contact us that it was cancelled. NOR did we receive our money back. As I said, it is a fraud.

If you are in the Orlando area and deal with bike races, BUYER BE WARE. Frauds are everywhere.

It was be in everyone's best interest if Active.com did not receive or post any more listing for bike ride in Orlando. They include but are not limited to the O'Town Classic and the Great Pumpkin Tour.

I live in Orlando too. Thanks for the heads up! What other places are there to find out about some of the road races in our area? I'm interested in competing, but don't know where to find the info on good races in Central Florida. Thanks!

Re: Be Careful in Orlando - Frauds.
I can agree with this message as this has been my experience for the past 2 years, on and off, as well. The cycle world in Orlando is a joke. The riders are rude and the (dis-) organizers are unprofessional and mostly clowns. They have no idea what it takes to present a quality ride.

There is one exception and that is the Tour de Cure that goes through the Green Mountains. The individuals who organize this ride are courteous, organized and very professional. It is one worth looking into.

Try the local bike shops for race info, they usually have the low down.
