Hey fellow athletes,

As a safety girl, I love my bike helmet. A few times I've ridden briefly without one (by mistake) & I feel so vulnerable!

I thought this NYT article on helmet need/usage was interesting. Wow, I didn't know our brains shrink as we age!

And so far, our kids love their helmets too. But, I see so many kids riding home from school with their helmets in their backpacks, over the handlebars or on their heads but not strapped on. This week I saw a lanky teen riding no helmet, no handed while texting!!! Crazy kids!

Parents, if your kids ride, how to you make wearing a helmet the only option, especially as they get older?
