Going streaking...

Well, I'm going to admit it - I'm out of shape.  Two bad seasons in a row (among other things) tanked my motivation and I spent most of the summer on silly excursions with my shiny new road bike (an extremely dangerous threat to serious training, second only to, possibly, permanent injury), and now I'm back in school and feel like I'm working all the time, without a running club to boot!

The plan: Once I get a streak of 21 days of daily running, I'm gonna start practicing with other Transports wannabes (their standard is 2:29:40). I'd probably (surely) embarrass myself if I tried running with them now, but give it 3 weeks...

The streak is at 3 days so far.  9.5 miles, 15 miles, and 7 miles.  Anyone else in? Strength in numbers?

What exactly are you looking for - people who run every single day?  I guess I'm in.  I must warn you, though, I'm not anywhere near your 2:29 group.  I took the day off running the day after the Twin Cities debacle, so my current streak started Oct 9.  Today makes it 33 days.  You want mileage too?

    Re: Going streaking...

I'm ready for some motivation - Injured for 8 weeks - Put 40# on.  Winter is a real bear to run every day in WI.

I count at least 4 miles running as a day running

My 1st day back from injury was Monday 11/29 and I've run every day since.
    #1 goal - Remain Healthy
#2 goal - run every day until 4/21 (Boston)

    Go streakers!

    Do l have these right?
    9 days for MTP
    34 days for joplus

yes, that's correct for me. And though I don't really want to reveal the ending too far in advance, I'll be running every day until Dec 14, because I usually take off the day before the day before a marathon.

If there's a thread about streaking, I've got to get in....

I'm pretty sure it's at 760 right now but I'd have to check the log to be sure.  Still kind of ramping the mileage back up after the marathon, so my daily mileage is only in the 6-6.6 range right now, but that'll be moving up pretty quick I hope.

Funny you should bring it up, I was just starting a streak after an injury break. I'm 5 days into a base building program. Count me in.

    Re: Going streaking...

I run a lot and know very well that consistency is key.

However, this kind of stuff might force people to run although they shouldn't due to sickness, injury or more important things in life.

I know it is performance enhancing for most (and that is why most people here run), but not for everybody.

    Just my 2c
