6/30  End of Jun But it Felt like Jul

We ran a easy 5 this morning 4 around 9:00 and the last mile around 7:30.  The cold front has not arrived yet.

Did 5 miles with a 1.9 mile hill workout in there.  It's the run I dread most (except for the 20 milers) but feel best after I'm done.  Now we're going to go off and spend 3 days in the Eastern Townships in Canada to celebrate our 21st anniversary.  So most probably very little running, but a lot of biking, kayaking, reading, eating drinking and generally being very merry.  10 miles on the 4th.

The cold front arrived here!! It was a chilly 50 degrees this morning. The steam coming off of the Allegheny River was amazing!  I think the cooler temps and low humidity gave us a little more pep in our step!

We ran 2 miles slowly with a  woman that joined our running group today!! It was her first run after having a baby 6 weeks ago. We wanted to support her, so we stayed at her pace and walked with her when she needed it. After we dropped her off, we took off!!  Fast tempo paced run until the finish. We managed a pace somewhere between 8:30-9:00/mile, which is quick for us!!  We did a total of 6.75 miles this morning. Felt good!!

Have fun on your trip Charlotte!  Sounds heavenly!!

    I will run for cupcakes!!

Good runs, Phillip and everyone!  Congrats on 21 years, Charlotte!  Have a wonderful celebration!

I can't claim any miles yet, though.  Summer Decathlon tonight:  1500M.    I was in the 5:40s each of the last 2 years for this event.  The weather might give me a chance to improve, I hope!

Four miles. Loved every step. Seriously, couldn't stop grinning for about an hour afterward.

Then I went to the chiropractor, and she did amazing things to my left hip that made me see God.

Wow!  Sounds like everyone had great runs today!  I had to fly this morning, so my intervals had to wait until this afternoon when it was completely steamy!  It's been hotter lately, but this was hot enough!  I sweat buckets I tell you!  The plan only called for 5 repeats, so it all worked out to just under 4 miles.  It's pouring down rain now and the temp has gone down 10 degrees - maybe I should have waited!

Congratulations on your anniversary Charlotte!  Have a great time!

Firecat - so glad to hear you back at it!  Congrats on a great run.

I e-mailed back an forth today with my awesome niece who was doing very well with her running (ran the Half at DerbyFest in 2009), but lost her routine while she was in Iraq.  She's home now and ready to get back to it along with some cohorts at work.  I told her about this great site and encouraged her to "drop in."  I hope she does.

Training calls for 45 minutes of cross training...which hardly breaks a sweat, so....

Elliptical: 30 min set at Manual, Ramp 10, Level 6 for 3.14 miles
Stationary Bike: 35 min set at Random, Level 10 for 10.04 miles
    Treadmill: 7.5mph x 10min, 8mph x 10min, 8.6mph x 8min, 9mph x 1min, 9.5mph x 1 min for 4.04 miles
Cool down walk and stretch: 4.2mph x 5min for 0.3 mile
Stairstepper: 20 min set at Random, Level 12

    Worked up a good sweat!

    Happy Anniversary Charlotte!

    Happy Training to you all!

Long time looker but figured with the 18 weeks to go, I would join in on the fun.  Plus, by posting I feel like I have a group to hold me accountable.

Today's run:  4.5 miles at 9:50 pace.  Hilly course if you want to call it that.  Living in the suburbs north of Atlanta, GA I am not sure this is such of a thing as a flat route.

Has anyone looked at the 16 week program for a sub 4hr marathon put out by Runner's World?

    Welcome, PHop!

Tonight's 1500M race:  5:46.  An exact duplicate of last year's time!  I guess that's better than running it slower!
